Brisbane based alternate rock/pop band, Wayward Smith, formed in 2007 have become a solid partnership enduring 5 years. After releasing their debut self-titled EP in 2011 they gained recognition from Australian band Gyroscope.
In mid-2012 they ventured back into the studio to record a second EP Bleeding Gold (due to be released early 2013). They have now announced the release of the first single called Highway from Bleeding Gold which will shortly be followed by a first ever film clip from the band.
Working alongside James Russell (Ty Noonan, Syndicate, Vagrant City Scandal) at Heliport Studios on the Sunshine Coast they have stepped up the bar since their 2011 EP. With sounds reminiscent of Garbage, The Cardigans and Killing Heidi they have developed a diverse and captivating EP.
Since forming, the band has graced many of Brisbane’s stages and provided support at many local events including the Jacaranda Festival and McHappy Day. Wayward Smith are currently lining up dates for a 2013 tour throughout Queensland with hopes of taking their sound down south.
